East Texas Poll – Steak Or Shrimp?

Surf n' Turf is a big deal here behind the Pine Curtain. We're big fans of our beef as well as big fans of seafood. And that's where today's East Texas Poll comes into play. Which do you prefer? Steak or shrimp?

On the one hand, steak is always promising, as long as it's cooked correctly. If you can find a good cut of beef, seasoned properly, and cooked to perfection (which is medium-rare, in case you didn't know), it's hard to beat.

But, on the other hand, if you can find some place to get fresh shrimp, once again seasoned properly, and cooked just right, without over or under cooking them, shrimp can be one of the most awesome dishes to purchase.

Personally, I prefer steak. But not just any steak. I prefer to have a properly grilled steak, one that's been flame-grilled, not flat-top grilled. Yes, you can get a pretty good steak this way, but it's just not the same if it hasn't been cooked over a flame. Shrimp is good, but in my opinion, not as good as steak.

Actually, given the choice, I prefer both. A restaurant that serves surf n' turf together is always at the top of my list.
