We're teaming up with our friends from Ferrara's Heating and Air Conditioning for the day of fun and fundraising.  From 11-2, the historic Z&OO Railroad will be offering FREE train rides. Plus, there will be barbecue available cooked up by Brannon Ferrara himself on the Ferrara's Heating and AC grill.  Kona Shave Ice will also be on hand serving up great ways to keep you cool.
All donations will go to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.  Plus, Ferrara's Heating and Air Conditioning will be matching all donations collected from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.  The All Aboard the Ferrara 'Trane' event is done in conjunctions with Ferrara's Heating and Air Conditioning, Kona Ice, Trane Comfort Specialists, KICKS 105, the Alzheimer's Association and the Lufkin Host Lions Club.

While you're there, consider taking a trip to the Ellen Trout Zoo just across from the park to see their new arrival.  A male Malayan tapir calf was born to proud parents Tembikai and Cool. That information was released today (August 6) on Tembikai's 5th birthday!

His keepers have named the new calf Pertama (sounds like Bahama), which means "first" in Malay. He is the first calf for this pair at Ellen Trou Zoo. He is a wonderful addition to the endangered Malayan tapir population.
