Gene Simmons has reportedly sold his Beverly Hills estate for $16 million.

The Kiss bassist placed the home on the market with an asking price of $22 million back in October 2020. TMZ reports that Simmons later upped his asking price to $25 million after making some renovations, but ultimately settled for the lower price.

The listing, held by the Altman Brothers of Douglas Elliman, called the home a "palatial estate" and an "incredible one of a kind 16,000 square-foot mansion." It features seven bedrooms and bathrooms with a 40-foot foyer, and the 1.84-acre property contains a pool with a 60-foot water slide, full-size tennis court and parking for 35 cars. The house was shown extensively on Gene Simmons: Family Jewels, a reality show that ran on A&E between 2006 and 2012.

When he put the home up for sale, Simmons revealed that he and Shannon Tweed, whom he married in 2011, purchased the house in 1984 for $1.35 million, when it was a ranch house. They've since remodeled it into the current, sprawling complex, with Simmons estimating he's spent $12 million over the years. You can see pictures of it below.

Back in February, he sold a smaller house in the Hollywood Hills, with four bedrooms and two baths, for $2 million. At the time Simmons said he'd be moving to another property he owns, a 24-acre estate near Mount Ranier in Washington, due to the lack of a state income tax, his expressed reason for leaving California.

Earlier this year, Simmons also bought an $8.2 million dollar home just outside Las Vegas.

“California and Beverly Hills have been treating folks that create jobs badly and the tax rates are unacceptable,” he said around the time he listed his longtime home. “I work hard and pay my taxes and I don’t want to cry the Beverly Hills blues but enough is enough.”
