Construction on HTeaO Lufkin Is Moving Along Quickly

Well, it's really happening. Lufkin is getting ready to experience something that Nacogdoches has known for a while now. I'm talking about getting an HTeaO. Nacogdoches has had one for a few years now, and it looks like Lufkin is only a few months away from having their own.

I first heard about the new addition from the Coming Soon Texas Facebook page back in 2025. They posted that construction was set to begin in February of 2026 and that the opening date was projected to be in September 2026. It looks like they were right.

Construction Began at 1410 S. First Street in Lufkin

It turns out that the construction started pretty much right on time with what I had come across on Facebook. The land was cleared at 1410 S. First Street. You might remember that location as Hill's Auto Ranch, right next door to First Christian Church. This is what it looked like in November of 2024:

Then, like I said, the land was cleared not too long ago and construction began on the new structure. As of right now, this is what the progress currently looks like:

We're just now starting April. That means there's still five months to go before we reach that projected opening date. I realize that once the outside is done, it will seem like progress just stops, because you're not able to see the interior work going on. However, I still think that if they keep this rate of speed up, we might see HTeaO Lufkin open up before September.

Keep in mind, I'm not a decision-maker in this, and I have no inside information, so my thoughts and opinions are just that - thoughts and opinions. Either way, the progress is looking good, and it should be a pretty exciting addition to Lufkin when it's all said and done!
