Felony Arrests In Angelina County Sept 16 – Sept 22

There were 12 felony arrests in Angelina County from September 16th - 22nd, 2024. Last week there were only 4 felony arrests, so things have returned to the status quo.

Man Who Killed His Wife In Diboll Put Back In System

Victor Keith Lee, 39 of Diboll, was convicted on February 8, 2024. According to the Lufkin Daily News Lee was given life in prison and a $10,000 fine for the murder of his wife, Ashley Schaefer.

The jury also ruled that Lee was guilty of burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon. He had three children with Schaefer.

Lee shot her 7 times on July 24, 2022, while she was sleeping in bed with her 18-month-old child lying next to her. Justice is slow, and a bench warrant for murder was just put in. Though already in jail, Lee will now officially begin serving a sentence.

4 People Went To Jail For The Same Murder

Along with Lee, three other people were arrested and pled guilty to being a part of the murder. One of them was Lee's mother, Deidra Marie Lee.

This was a ruthless murder that will forever taint the lives of the victim's 10 total children and extended family.
