
Gas Prices Fall for Second Week in Texas as Summer Travel Ramps Up
There is good news for those keeping up with the roller coaster of gas prices. Texas had another good week as it saw gas prices dip again. Although it isn't technically summer, we are already in the summer swing. People are heading off to their vacation destinations, and most people are opting for driving instead of flying.
Texas was seeing gas prices at over $4 per gallon, but now, for the second week in a row, gas prices have dropped. AAA Texas says gas prices in Texas dropped 20 cents. The average price of gas in Texas is currently $3.72 per gallon. McAllen is still paying the least at $3.44 per gallon, while El Paso is still the highest at $4.05 per gallon. El Paso is the only city in Texas where the average price is over $4 per gallon. The national average this week is set at $4.24 per gallon, which is lower than last week.

- Lubbock: $3.68 - Last week: $3.85 - down 16 cents from last week
- Midland: $3.59 - Last week: $3.82 - down 23 cents from last week

- Tyler: $3.71 - Last week: $3.88 - down 16 cents from last week
- El Paso: $4.05 - Last week: $4.10 - down 4 cents from last week

What Is Driving Gas Price Changes in Texas?
AAA Texas tells us gas prices will remain volatile as long as the conflict in the Middle East continues.
Crude oil prices remain near $100 a barrel. According to OilPrice.com, WTI crude is at $93.09 per barrel, with Brent crude at $95.15 a barrel.
If you are traveling this week, enjoy the cheaper gas prices. We can only hope they will continue to drop.
