Turning Point USA Gets a Helping Hand from Texas 

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick Pledges One Million Dollars to Turning Point USA 

According to Fox 4 News, Lt. Governor Patrick is pledging one million dollars in Texas in an effort to establish a Turning Point USA chapter on every high school and college campus in the state. TPUSA Founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination on September 10th of this year was followed by 135 thousand new TPUSA chapter requests. 

Texas Officials Schedule Speaking Engagements for Turning Point USA 

Texas State Attorney General Ken Paxton and Lt. Governor Patrick plan to speak at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Houston Tuesday (11/11). Paxton is also scheduled to speak at a TPUSA event at UNT today (11/10), and an event at Texas State University on Wednesday (11/12).  

Charlie Kirk’s Death and its Effect in Texas 

Attorney General Ken Paxton opened an investigation into the University of North Texas following Kirk’s assassination after an incident in a UNT classroom. Paxton said students were not only celebrating Kirk’s assassination but also expressed hope that President Trump would suffer the same fate. Paxton said the student who spoke out against the celebration was yelled at by other students and told to leave the class by the professor. 

Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Concerns About How the Incident was Handled by the University 

Paxton’s letter said the student reported the incident to the Dean of Students, who told her to make a report to the Psychology Department. The student said she was not given the option of filing a report, which should be standard procedure. According to Paxton, the University may have violated multiple policies.
