Need a stocking stuffer idea? How about some lollipops flavored with Sriracha chili sauce and bacon?

Lollipop makers in Austin have come up with the idea for mixing spicy pepper sauce and bacon flavor, and putting it on a stick. Is this a good idea?

The reason behind this sucker creation stems from a news story that maybe you heard about earlier this year.

Remember when there was talk that the Sriracha chili plant in California may have to close because nearby residents complained of burning, watery eyes, and breathing problems because of the pepper fumes?

The shutdown was avoided after a judge ruled the plant could stay open if they reduced their fumes, so crisis averted!

And now an Austin candy company called, Lollyphile, became inspired to find new ways to use the pepper sauce to give the sauce some love and show its appreciation for spice.  The Sriracha Bacon Lollipops were born, and just launched this week.  The company says they are, "candied salty spicy peppery porky goodness."

Enjoy!  And thanks Texas, for coming up with another peculiar, yet delightful creation!
