People tend to feel generous during the holidays in December, but January can be a rough month for organizations that rely on donations.  Lufkin's Meals on Wheels program is feeling the pinch, and could use a boost right now.

The Angelina County Senior Citizen Center tries to serve as many residents as it can each day, but there's been a drop lately in donations and volunteer hours.

KTRE says the Meals on Wheels program serves 800 hot meals per day, but it's feeling the pinch right now and many senior citizens are on a waiting list to resume delivery.  Some of them live in homes where the kitchen isn't in the best shape to be making meals, and some of them are unable to cook because of physical issues.  Bottom line is, those folks rely on meals that may not come because of the stress on the program.
