The Galindo family was headed southbound on Timberland Drive in separate vehicles, attempting to turn left onto Nesbitt Avenue to go home. That is when Huffhines, who was traveling northbound on Timberland Drive in a Nissan Altima, veered into the turn lane, hitting the Cadillac head-on.

On impact, Galindo’s Cadillac was pushed into the Jeep his wife was driving, causing damage.

Huffhines did not appear to be wearing her seat belt and she struck the windshield and steering wheel, causing trauma to her head and neck.  The airbags in her vehicle did not deploy.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she died a short time later.

The Galindo children were also taken to a local hospital to be checked out. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Neither of the parents required medical treatment.

Please keep everyone involved in this accident and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
