Ever Seen A Repair Job That Makes You Scratch Your Head?
I'm sure you've heard the phrase "redneck engineering". If you haven't, you've at least heard about "rigging" something. Either one of these means to "fix" something by whatever means necessary. Lots of times it involves using something along the lines of duct tape, or some other quick means.
You come across these "fixes" all the time. Usually, they make you sigh, shake your head, and say to yourself, "Surely there was a better way to do that...". Sometimes, these are done out of necessity. Other times, it's just the absolute cheapest, quickest way to fix something. Recently, I came across one of these "fixes". Take a look:
To be perfectly honest, I'm not real sure what this person was trying to accomplish. All I know is that they used a lot of zip ties to accomplish whatever their goal was. The last time I checked the price of those things for myself, it wasn't exactly a cheap purchase. As I looked at this, I went through the same routine that I mentioned earlier - I sighed, shook my head, and thought, "Surely there was a better way to do that..." (Whatever 'that' was).

Maybe you guys have some insight on this. What was attempting to be accomplished here? Was there a better way to do it? Have you seen anything else like this before? If you have, please feel free to enlighten me. At this point, I'm legitimately curious about what kind of "fix" this was supposed to be.
Maybe it wasn't even a "fix". Maybe it was just someone that was bored, and stringing together zip-ties just for the heck of it. If that's the case, one thing is for sure: I can think of cheaper ways to kill time.
