Action appears to be brewing in the Van Halen camp.  With rumors swirling that the band is preparing to issue a new single soon,  frontman David Lee Roth posted a cryptic message on his official website over the weekend that declares, simply, "Get Ready ..."

In addition, the group's official Facebook page finally confirmed last week that Van Halen will be playing the five-city Soundwave Revolution festival in Australia during the early fall, about two months after the event's website first posted the news.

Meanwhile, Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, who is friendly with VH bass player Wolfgang Van Halen, said he's heard rough tracks from sessions for the veteran hard-rock band's forthcoming album.  Speaking with Colorado's KILO radio on Thursday, Tremonti said of the new recordings, "What makes it so great is that they took what they could from all their old demos back in the '80s and pretty much did what they could to create songs out of old ideas, so it sounds like vintage Van Halen…The music sounded like very authentic, old-school Van Halen."
