Nacogdoches Deputy Killed in Tragic Friday Morning Accident
Just before 7 o'clock Friday morning, we started receiving texts that a very bad accident had occurred on Highway 259 north of Central Heights, and that we should keep the Nacogdoches Sheriff's Department in our prayers. We later learned about the on duty passing of one of our finest.
Here's is the official release from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Department:
It is with great sorrow that I report that a Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Deputy was tragically killed in the line of duty early this morning.
Deputy Raymond Bradley (Brad) Jimmerson, age 49, was struck and killed this morning while attempting to remove debris from the roadway on US highway 259, approximately 7 miles north of Nacogdoches. Deputy Jimmerson had been dispatched to a call of a traffic hazard in the roadway at that location.
Nacogdoches Communications Center began receiving calls on the crash at 6:46 a.m. Deputy Jimmerson was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kerry Don Williamson.
The investigation into the crash is being conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol. All media inquiries into the investigation should be directed through that agency.
Deputy Jimmerson has been with NCSO for 19 years and in Law Enforcement for over 20 years.
Funeral arrangements are pending at this time with Laird Funeral Home in Nacogdoches.
Deputy Jimmerson was a beloved member of our community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He served our community with distinction and honor. He will leave behind a deep void within our law enforcement family and community.
Please keep Deputy Jimmerson’s family, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office, and all law enforcement officers in your thoughts and prayers.
