New businesses in Nacogdoches are always a welcome sight. Actually, it's not even limited to Nacogdoches - new businesses in Deep East Texas are always a welcome sight. As I was driving on Highway 59 this morning, a vacant building that used to house a business was getting a facelift. Naturally, I had to find out what was going on. I'm proud to say I got answers.

Equipment Share is Getting a Nacogdoches Location

Just outside of the Nacogdoches city limits sits what used to be Nacogdoches Iron Works. That business closed a few years ago, and the building has been sitting vacant ever since. This is what the building looked like in 2023 via Google Maps, and it's basically looked the same until now:

However, if you drive by right now, this is what you'll see:

Clearly, some work is being done on the old NIW location. But I had no insight on what was going to occupy the updated space. So, I did what any logical person would do. I looked on Facebook.

After a bit of searching, I came across a post from a brand-new page called EquipmentShare (Nacogdoches, TX). This is what I found:

I'm familiar with EquipmentShare. They're a company for renting construction equipment of all different sizes, from landscaping equipment to items as large as dozers.

According to EquipmentShare.com, they have 385 locations across 45 states - 60 of the locations are here in Texas. With the addition of the Nacogdoches location at 4750 US-59, it looks like that number will now - officially - be 61.

Not that these would get you out of a ticket if you got caught speeding, but these are a few of the excuses that you wouldn't hear anywhere other than Nacogdoches.
