No More ‘For Lease’ Sign at the Former Schlotzky’s in Nacogdoches
I'm always on the lookout for changes in our Deep East Texas area. I'm one of the most curious people you'll meet, so when something starts changing, I do my best to keep an eye on it to find out what's going on. Sometimes the changes aren't as exciting as they are disappointing, like when a business is closing. Other times, they're very exciting, like when something new is coming in. While driving through Nacogdoches the other day, I came across something that seems to be falling into that more exciting category.
Changes Spotted at Old Schlotzky's Location in Nacogdoches
The Nacogdoches Schlotzky's location permanently closed its doors in 2025 after being there for 30 years. They closed, all of the equipment was auctioned off, and a "For Lease" sign was put in the window. It's been sitting empty since then.

This past weekend, as I was driving by, this is what I saw:
You know what's not in that picture? The "For Lease" sign. Previously, that sign was located in the window that was on the right corner window in that picture.

Like I said, I'm a curious person. Naturally, questions started to pop into my head. Has someone actually leased the building? If so, who and/or what is moving in there? Is the building going away completely? What's the timeline for whatever is next for this building? Who might have answers to all of these questions? And the list goes on...
As you can see, there's a lot of uncertainty about this. We've heard some rumors, and the speculations are all out there, but nothing concrete has been presented yet. As soon as I hear something definitive, I'll let you know!
