Neil Young Journeys, the recent Jonathan Demme-directed documentary that captures the folk-rock legend performing in May 2011 in Toronto, has been chosen to receive a special screening at the 2012 Slamdance Film Festival.

The festival is scheduled to run from January 20 to January 26 in Park City, Utah, and will take place at the same time as the Sundance Film Festival.

The screening of Neil Young Journeys will mark the flick's U.S. debut.  It had its premiere this past September 12 at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.  Sony Pictures Classics bought the worldwide rights, excluding Latin America and, according to NeilYoung.com, plans to release it in April.
