Bringing a classic back to the big screen is always a good thing. I wasn't old enough when the movie first came out to go see it in theaters. I do remember my dad being a fan, and us watching all of the Jaws movies alone because my mom and sister were too scared.

If you want to see the reason a bunch of people to this day don't swim in the ocean, check out Jaws. It was a cinematic journey into the deep blue sea, and my father loved the ocean.

Tickets are only 5 dollars each to be transported back to 1975 when the movie first came out. It is based on the book "Jaws" by Peter Benchley that came out in 1974. He then got together with Carl Gottlieb and quickly wrote a screenplay.

When a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping near the New England tourist town of Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) overrules him, fearing that the loss of tourist revenue will cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and grizzled ship captain Quint (Robert Shaw) offer to help Brody capture the killer beast, and the trio engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.

Billed as "The terrifying motion picture from the terrifying No.1 best seller." Jaws might seem a little tame by today's standards, but 45 years ago, it was a sensation.
