We've got plenty of courageous athletes right here in East Texas.  We especially love watching Lufkin and Nac athletes strive for the best each Friday night during the fall.  We love high school football!  Some of those athletes look up to the pros, and those pros will be honored this summer.

ESPN's big awards show known as THE ESPY's has turned into quite the event.  They hold the awards show each year during the Major League All-Star Break to get the maximum number of athletes to attend.  Baseball is on a break, football, hockey, and basketball are out of season, and all the big athletes want to be there.  It's turned into a big party, complete with the red carpet and funny speeches.

This year, we know one award winner will be ABC's Robin Roberts, who spent time in the 1990's as an ESPN anchor.

Roberts will be honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at The 2013 ESPYS on July 17.  She returned to Good Morning Amercia in February, five months after receiving a bone marrow transplant for a rare blood disorder known as myelodysplastic syndrome or MDS.

The 2013 ESPYS will air live on ESPN from Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre.
