Saluting Area World War II Veterans
At the half of every home basketball game, the SFA Lumberjacks honor veterans of the United States Military. Q107 and the U.S. Army want to make sure that the stories of these brave heroes are expanded beyond the walls of the coliseum.
Recently, SFA honored veterans of World War II, a global war that was generally considered to have lasted from 1939 to 1945, although some conflicts in Asia that are commonly viewed as becoming part of the world war had been going on earlier than that. It involved the vast majority of the world's nations—including all of the great powers—eventually forming two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. It was the most widespread war in history, with more than 100 million people, from more than 30 different countries.
Presenting these World War II veterans: (some are pictured in the photo above)
