Whatever Happened to Sno Works in Nacogdoches?

Before there were any mobile shave-ice or snow cone vendors operating around Nacogdoches, there was a permanent building on the corner of University Drive and Austin Street where you could stop by and get that cold, sugary fix.

Sno Works on University Drive

For as long as I can remember, there was a snow cone shop in Nacogdoches called Sno Works. It was just a small building on the corner of University Drive and Austin Street, in front of the University Park Plaza.

A few years ago, it just quietly went away. I noticed that cars weren't pulling up to park in the lot to get snow cones, and no one ever seemed to be in the building. Shortly after that, the electric pole that supplied power to the little building was removed.

Now, if you pull up to it, the building is still there, but there's no life to it. You can see the remnants of snow cone making tools still on the counter, but that's about it. The signs with the different snow cone flavors on the outside of the building just continue to fade and chip away.

Even the building itself is falling into disrepair. Take a look:

And here's one more look, from the other side of the building:

As you can see, whoever owns the property does a pretty good job of keeping the grass mowed and they keep the lot looking nice. However, the building itself is just continuing to fade away.
