From as early as I can remember, Terrific Teachers Treasures was a fixture in Nacogdoches. Sometime around 2022 is when the doors were closed for the last time there, and the building was remodeled into a small shopping center.

What Was Terrific Teachers Treasures?

For those of you less familiar with Nacogdoches, you might not remember Terrific Teachers Treasures. It was a local school supply store. Since my mom was a teacher throughout my entire childhood, we knew that store well.

There was just about everything a teacher would need for their classroom They sold pens and pencils of all different designs, posters, puzzles, visual aids, learning center supplies, office supplies (WAY beyond just the pens and pencils that I mentioned), stickers, and so much more. They didn't have the volume of items that a nationwide office supply store like Staples or Office Max would carry, but they tended to have more individualized items that you couldn't find in those big stores. Plus, it was run by a local Deep East Texas resident, so that was pretty neat.

What Became of Terrific Teachers Treasures?

Like I mentioned earlier, the doors closed for the last time at Terrific Teachers sometime around 2022. At first, I expected one single store to move in and take over the space. Instead, a construction crew showed up and completely renovated the entire building, making it into a small shopping center with five different spaces for stores, including a T-Mobile store and a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, among others.

I didn't go in there a whole lot before they closed for good, but every now and then I catch myself needing something that I think Terrific Teachers would have carried. It brings back memories of going in there from time to time. They're definitely missed in the Nacogdoches community. Do any of you remember Terrific Teachers Treasures?
