Texas’ Own Billy Gibbons Leads an Armed Forces Day Tribute This Weekend
Saturday, May 15th is Armed Forces Day, and Billy Gibbons isn't going to let the day pass without a star-studded tribute to veterans and first responders. Here's what you need to know.
I can hear the takeout barbecue and festive beverage calling now. This will be a fun Saturday night on the couch!
AXS TV is presenting the America Salutes You: Guitar Legends 4 concert on May 15th at 8 PM Central time from the Foo Fighters Studio 606 in Los Angeles. Dave Grohl is everywhere right now and he's connected to everyone, not unlike Kevin Bacon and his 6 degrees, so it seems fitting that Kevin Bacon will be there too. Of course!
Lots of rockers will be part of the show, and some country and folk artists too. They'll all unite to support the people who support active-duty military, veterans, and first responders. Kenny Loggins, Big & Rich, The Bacon Brothers (featuring Kevin and Michael Bacon), Larkin Poe, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, and several others artists will be there. Did we mention Houston's own Billy Gibbons? Yay.
America Salutes You is a non-profit foundation that works to support the mental health and wellness of veterans and first-responders, and they focus on benefit concerts for active military, veterans, first-responders, and their families.
Billy Gibbons is releasing a new album on June 4th called Hardware, which he recorded last year in the California desert during the height of the pandemic. We hear he'll play the song Desert High from the new album tomorrow. See ya on the couch!
