No, Trader Joe’s Isn’t Coming to Deep East Texas

Every now and then, the question gets asked, "What store would you like to see come to Deep East Texas?" That question gets tons of answers. One of the answers that I see over and over again is the call for Trader Joe's. I must admit, I'm not very familiar with that one. I've actually never even set foot inside one. However, lots of people are fans, and apparently lots of people think that we need one here. If you're one of those people, the information in this post isn't going to make you very happy.

Trader Joe's Is Not Coming to Deep East Texas

No, we aren't getting a Trader Joe's in Deep East Texas. A while back, the announcement was made that there were going to be several new locations open up in the near future. Just recently, there was more clarification about where the new stores would be opening.

According to an article from Yahoo! there are going to be nine new Trader Joe's locations open up across eight states over the next few months. Those locations are:

• Phoenix, AZ
• Sarasota, FL
• Chicago, IL
• Quincy, MA
• Farmington Hills, MI
• Syracuse, NY
• Yonkers, NY
• University Heights, OH
• West Jordan, UT

Like I said, if you're a fan of the Trader Joe's grocery store chain, this isn't super exciting news for you - unless you have friends and family near one of these locations. You might have even noticed that there isn't a location in the entire state of Texas in the next round of stores...However, there might be a silver lining. If they're expanding like this now, maybe there is some hope for the chain to open up in our area soon, right?
