It’s finally July, and more importantly, the month in which Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets comes out. The most generously-budgeted indie film to ever come out of Europe, with control in the grip of confirmed madman Luc Besson, it’s bound to be a spectacle of one sort or another. (Though it’s all but doomed to be crushed at the box office by Dunkirk, which arrives the same day.) And in an attempt to drum up some more excitement for the upcoming unveiling, distributor STX has set up a preview that audiences can’t help but attend.

A notice from Deadline announced that STX has bundled the opening scene of Valerian with select screenings of Spider-Man: Homecoming, to play prior to the feature presentation. In 3D and Large Premium Format (an alternative to IMAX different only in name) screenings, the audiences will get an eyeful of how the massive, intricate space-mecca known as Space Station Alpha comes together. If STX’s gambit pays off, kids will see brightly-colored aliens in space and demand their parents take them, at which point it’s game over. Once your child is intent on seeing a movie, you’re seeing that movie. Probably thrice.

STX also unveiled a new clip from the film in which glorified space-cops Laureline (Cara Delevingne) and Valerian (Dane DeHaan) learn a little bit more about the city of Alpha. Weird orbs getting placed in other spots, robots working on giant motherboards, Cara Delevingne trying to pull off sarcasm — it’s a true feast for the senses. Give it a look-see above, and keep an eye out for the film on July 21.
