What Are Some East Texas Superstitions?

Don't step on a crack. Don't walk under a ladder. 13 is unlucky. Don't wash those lucky socks. These are all superstitions that we've heard at one point or another.

Just about everyone has used a superstition or two during their lifetime. Whether you actually believe in them or not, you've said something along these lines before.

There are some people that would argue that there is some underlying power in these. Whether it's a black cat or a rabbit's foot, there is something at work here. Also, being in the heart of East Texas, especially during hunting season, you here the local hunters referring to their "lucky" this, or "special" that. Something that will help them bring home that big trophy.

As for me, I say that these are all mind games. You play better thinking that you've got some form of luck on your side. You're more confident with some sort of help. Call me pessimistic, but that's just what I think.

With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, maybe I've just got the luck of the Irish on my mind.
