I don't like to brag, but decades ago when I was in elementary school, I was to dodgeball what Forrest Gump was to running.  There was just no stopping me.  In dodgeball, I was too quick to hit and no one could escape the blazing rubber balls I launched at kids' torsos.  Remember Clint Eastwood in 'Every Which Way But Loose'?  That was me in dodgeball, except I let the balls do the punching.

Nowadays, dodgeball has gone the way of hard hits on quarterbacks.  But, thankfully, Junior Achievement of Angelina County is reviving this game of skill and speed, a game that can produce welts and bruises that you can wear as badges of honor.

This will be the 2nd year that Junior Achievement is presenting their Adult Dodgeball Tournament, (highlights from year one are featured in the video above).  It will once again be held at HiJinx Trampoline Park on Highway 94 in Hudson.  Yeah, try catching or throwing a ball when you're 10 feet off the ground.  Last year's event was so popular, that there are two nights of action this time around.  Teams of 6 will go at it on February 4th and 6th.  It's a double elimination tournament and you must at least 18 years of age to play.

It's fun, it's team building, and it can be strenuous...so, you may want to go ahead and put in for a sick day for the following day at work.
