Yes, There Was A Half-Naked Guy At Brendyn’s BBQ This Weekend
I don't really know where to begin. I guess you just write it down as one of those things you think only will happen on a TV show...
I sitting in Brendyn's BBQ this weekend having lunch. As I looked up, I saw a man stroll through the door. Which - considering that it's a restaurant - isn't that surprising. However, this particular person entered in a "different" fashion. He walked through the door, in nothing - quite literally NOTHING - but a short t-shirt on, and flailing his arms like he had no control over them. I, along with all the other customers, watched in silence as he walked in, headed to the cooler, STOLE a drink, and walked out. I mean, seriously, how do you react to that?
And, it's not like it was an empty restaurant. There were several people inside eating, including two young children. Luckily, the two children were completely oblivious, so focused on their BBQ, that they didn't notice him at any time. Dodged a bullet there.
We all watched in total silence as the Nacogdoches Police Department showed up to detain the man just outside of the restaurant. We saw him argue with the officers a bit, at one point reaching for one officer's weapon. We also watched as his friend - someone who really cared about his welfare - tried to reason with him, to calm him down. We also saw him not take the advice, nor calm down.
All in all, it was quite the eventful lunch at Brendyn's BBQ that day. It was definitely not something that I had ever witnessed happen before, and it's something that I'm sure I won't forget. I won't go so far as to say that it was an enjoyable experience - because it wasn't. The food was great, but I'm certain the show is one that we could've done without.
**IMPORTANT SIDE-NOTE: The staff at the restaurant handled it very well, making sure that we customers were all alright. They were totally professional throughout the whole ordeal.**
I truly hope that he can get some help with whatever was going on. Obviously, something wasn't quite right, and I hope that he can get some help with that.
Also - for this man, and EVERYONE else - please remember that "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service" also includes "No Pants"...
