We saw Kid Rock crossover from rock/rap to country - a more successful genre for him in my opinion - and it appears as though that Poison lead singer/reality star Bret Michaels will be following in his footsteps.

The singer recently spoke to CMT about the upcoming release of a new country album. ‘Bret Michaels: Once a Cowboy, Always a Cowboy’ will hit stores in early 2011 and is said to have a contemporary, Americana feel. The rock singer has always been a little bit country, collaborating with artists like Hank Williams Jr. and Rascal Flatts‘ Jay DeMarcus.

The reality star also got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Kristi Gibson. After 16 years together, a couple of reality shows and and near-fatal brain hemorrhage,  I guess the singer finally realized that there was no other woman for him. Congratulations to the both of them!

Thoughts? Will you be buying Bret's country album?
