You can help the Melrose Volunteer Fire Department raise money to buy new gear, and get a good meal, too!

Saturday, November 4th, there will be a BBQ fundraiser from 11 AM - 2 PM at the Melrose fire station on Highway 21.

Plates cost $10, which isn't too bad when you consider that you get chicken, sausage, beans, potato salad, dessert and drink. Like I mentioned before, all the proceeds are going to be used in purchasing new equipment for the fire department.

This means, for $10, you get a bunch of good food, and you help out a good cause. That's what I like to refer to as a win-win situation. So whenever you get off the deerstand on November 4th - opening day of deer season - you can make your way out to the Melrose Fire Department.

If you aren't sure about how to get to Melrose from Nacogdoches, it's simple. You take Highway 21 East out of Nacogdoches. That highway will take you right into Melrose.
