The only thing that might get in your way of a beautiful Texas afternoon out by the grill this spring, is the cost of brisket.  It keeps going up!

It's getting a little more painful to buy brisket these days, and the experts say it relates to the drought of 2011.  The effect are lingering, according to CBS News, and then add in the fact that it costs more to feed a cow these days and all of that means the price of brisket has gone up by 60 percent compared to last year.  Yikes!

And with the popularity of barbecue, especially in Texas, more restaurants are adding it to their menus, which increases demand and drives up the price even more.

The moral of the story?  If you're supplying the meat at your barbecue for the big football game next week, definitely have your friends BYOB.
