Despite the rain, Brendyn's BBQ had a successful 6th anniversary. By the time they officially opened up at 11, there was already a line waiting for them. For every anniversary leading up to this one, they've added new features, and this year was no different. There was live music, giveaways, free merch, and - of course - featured menu items.

Brendyn's BBQ 6th Anniversary Overview

Brendyn's BBQ opened up at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 6th to the sounds of live music from Zach Maberry, the smell of not only barbeque, but also Prof's Pizza AND free peach cobbler. There were tables set up for free merch giveaways like koozies, key chains and sunglasses.

There were also raffle chances. Attendees had the chance to sign up to win gift cards, Thanksgiving turkeys, turtle boxes from the Turtle Box Bandit, and more.

In addition to all of the regular menu items - the Pig Apple, loaded spud, loaded mac-n-cheese, etc. - the extras were huge this year, both in popularity AND size. They featured dino ribs, smoked oysters, tomahawk steaks and Asian duck boudin.

The Rain Didn't Slow Down the Celebration

Despite forecasts calling for the rain to hold off until 4:00 that afternoon, the downpour started in Nacogdoches around 12:30. However, it didn't slow down any of the festivities. People stayed in line, and they continued buying barbeque and celebrating. Plus, it wasn't like it kept raining for hours, so it wasn't too hard to wait it out.
