I'm always on the lookout for new things coming into our area. Sometimes, it takes a while to determine what something is going to be. Sometimes, there's a sign put out front that tells you exactly what's coming. I personally prefer that latter option, but most often I have to sit and speculate on what's coming.

Anyways, Nacogdoches has had a building sitting vacant for a few months now. It's located on University Drive, and it was most recently a southern-style buffet restaurant before closing down. Before that, it was a different restaurant, and before that it was a local sports bar. Naturally, the expectation was that whatever came in there next would be a restaurant of some sort. This week, a sign was hung on the outside of the building confirming that expectation. Nacogdoches is getting a new Cajun Seafood restaurant.

Captain Crab Coming Soon Sign Spotted in Nacogdoches

On the outside of the building located at 3205 North University Drive, a new sign that says "Captain Crab Cajun Seafood Coming Soon" was hung up just this week. See for yourself:

Now, I'm no expert, but that Captain Crab font and the picture of a crab appear to be the same one from the Captain Crab location on Timberland Drive in Lufkin, between China Hibachi Buffet and Rodeo Disko. I'm assuming that this Nacogdoches one will just be a second location, owned and operated by the same people behind the Lufkin location. However, like I said, I'm no expert.

Regardless of who runs it, it is exciting to see new businesses come to Nacogdoches. So far, I haven't seen or heard anything about an opening date, but I'll keep you posted on details as I get them! Until then, I think it's appropriate here to say, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"
