Get Ready For The Do Dat BBQ – April 25th

There aren't a ton of things that I say I look forward to every year. I mean, I'm not a stick in the mud, but I don't have a lot of items on the calendar annually that I get fired up about. The things that I do enjoy and that do make my annual calendar are things like my anniversary, a few family birthdays, a handful of holidays...things like that.

But, there is one event that's not family-related that I get pumped about year after year - Do Dat BBQ. I look forward to heading out to the Nacogdoches County Expo Center and seeing all the teams competing for awards, just to see if their barbeque has what it takes to be "the best". And, if I'm writing about it, you know that it's coming up!

Do Dat BBQ Fires Up April 25, 2026

This year, Do Dat will be back, once again, to the Nacogdoches County Exposition & Civic Center. It all kicks off at 10:00 AM and will wrap up at 5:00 PM. Tickets will cost $15 per person, which isn't a bad price at all, considering that once you're in the gate you get the chance to sample barbeque from all the different teams there.

Plus, you get the chance to vote on your favorites. The teams will be judged by a panel, but there's also a People's Choice Award that's voted on by the attendees. It's a pretty cool award, if you ask me.

It's Not Only About the Barbeque

Yes, the barbeque is the biggest part of this - hence, the name, duh... - But there are also other things going on as well. There will be kids areas, live music, vendors, and more. And on top of that, all the proceeds will benefit that Nacogdoches Area United Way, so it's all for a good cause!
