While you are there fishing, it's a good practice to stay more than 6ft away from others. If they continue walking your way, just put on your mask. Some people will not observe social distancing, and that's what the mask is for. An extra layer of protection. Use it, and keep one handy. No one likes wearing it, but if someone is getting up in your grill, put it on it's a great reminder for them to back up and give you some space.

The pier is narrower in some spots, so please be mindful. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. By visiting Ellen Trout Park Pier, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

We are seeing the tale tale signs of things slowly getting back to normal. The fight against viruses will never end, but now that we know how to social distance in public, there shouldn't be any reason to not to do the things we love.

The Ellen Trout Zoo is owned and operated by the City of Lufkin, which is responsible for the daily operation. The Ellen Trout Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA).
