A lot of people are spending huge amounts of money to watch Monday's solar eclipse. The population of the Texas Hill Country, north-central Texas, and northeast Texas is expected to increase by millions as travelers try to catch a glimpse of this rare celestial event.

Given the forecast, the view could be very disappointing.

Celebrate the Eclipse for Free

Dairy Queen restaurants throughout Texas are celebrating the solar eclipse by offering a free DQ® Sandwich Treat while supplies last at participating restaurants.

My compliments to the DQ graphic design department for showing their signature soft serve sandwich complete with the 'Ring of Fire'.

There are quite a few DQ locations throughout East Texas, including Lufkin, Diboll, Huntington and Nacogdoches. You may want to call ahead and make sure your store is participating and still has sandwiches left.
