If you’ve ever driven past a soccer field in Texas on any given Saturday morning, you already know the scene.

Minivans and SUVs packed into the parking lot, folding chairs lined up along the sidelines, parents balancing coffee cups while cheering like it’s the World Cup and somewhere in the middle of it all, a group of incredibly organized moms making sure everyone has their snacks, cleats, and shin guards!

Well, it turns out that’s not just a Texas stereotype. A new analysis from online betting site CSB, looked at which states are most likely to produce soccer moms, and Texas landed firmly in the number one spot.

Texas Just Ranked the #1 State Most Likely to Have Soccer Moms

To figure this out, researchers created something they called a “Soccer Mom Index.” They looked at a few different factors, including:

  • Youth sports participation rates
  • Number of kids per capita
  • And even minivans per capita

Texas ended up on top largely because the state has the highest youth sports participation rate in the country, which is not surprising!

The States Most Likely to Have Soccer Moms

According to the ranking, the top five states most likely to embrace soccer mom life are:

  • Texas
  • Wyoming
  • North Dakota
  • Mississippi
  • Nebraska

Looks like Texas isn’t just part of the soccer mom conversation, it’s leading the whole thing.

Texas Moms Are Basically Weekend Logistics Experts

Now, I know the phrase “soccer mom” sometimes gets used as a joke. But anyone who has ever been around youth sports knows soccer moms are doing a lot more than just sitting on the sidelines.

They’re coordinating practice schedules, organizing carpools, remembering uniforms, packing snacks, and somehow making it to games on time- often while juggling work, school schedules, and about a hundred other things! Okay, yes, occasionally that includes enthusiastically questioning a referee’s call.

But that’s just part of the passion that makes youth sports so fun. With the highest youth sports participation in the country, it’s no surprise Texas landed at the top of the list.

So if you’ve ever spent your Saturday morning in a folding chair next to a soccer field, coffee in hand, cheering for a bunch of kids chasing a ball around, you might already be living the Texas soccer mom life, whether you planned on it or not!
