Jazz Fest Might Be Aerosmith’s Only Concert This Year

If you are a fan of festivals, that are still a quick drive from East Texas, the New Orleans Jazz Fest might be on your list. The acts this year that I recognized were pretty big headliners. Better Than Ezra, Aerosmith, and Cage The Elephant, were the ones that stood out on the list to me.

But this is a two weekend event so you can take your pick of which weekend you gas up and head out.  Weekend one is April 27 - 29th and the second one is Thursday May 3rd - Sunday May 6th. That is the one that I was leaning towards going, since those artists I mentioned earlier were going to be there. This is a 12 hour round trip excursion, so don't let your friends tell you it's a day trip. You are going to need to get a hotel, but it can be done in a day if you have multiple drivers.

The Fairgrounds Race Course is the venue, so it's going to be outside, late April - May so you will really have to watch the sunscreen, or be prepared for a mud fest. Tickets are actually pretty reasonable, especially if you buy now.

1st Weekend Single Day Tickets (April 27, 28 & 29)
Early-bird advance ticket: $65 (Through Friday, April 6)
Regular advance ticket: $70 (Through Thursday, April 26)
Gate Price: $80
(each ticket valid for any single day of the weekend)
Child's ticket: $5 (available at the gate only, ages 2 – 10, adult must be present with child, children under 2 are admitted free)
