Tuesday evening, several hundred people showed up at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center to get insight and to have their questions answered concerning the new State of Texas open carry law set to take effect on January 1st.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office hosted the event which featured several presenters including Sheriff Greg Sanches, Lufkin Chief of Police Gerald Williamson, and Lufkin City Attorney Bruce Green.  Also representing the Sheriff's Office were Roy Owens and Jeff Farmer.

The various points of the new law were covered one by one and quite a few questions were addressed.  Sheriff Sanches was quick to point out that there may be some nuances in the way the open carry law is enforced and interpreted from county to county.

The video is nearly 40 minutes long, but chances are very good that if you have any questions concerning the open carry law, they should be answered within the video.
