For several months now, there has been a lot of construction going on in Downtown Nacogdoches. The most notable would probably be the renovation of the old Regions Bank building into what will be the Elliott Electric Supply Headquarters.

If you're not familiar with this transition, here's a bit of a quick rundown. The current Elliott Electric Supply corporate office sits at 2526 N. Stallings Drive in Nacogdoches. They acquired the former Regions Bank building located at 300 E. Main Street. They will be relocating their corporate office to this new location.

Big Changes are Already Underway

A quick search on Google Maps shows that just a few short years ago, the building I was talking about looked like this:

For the Nacogdoches area, that's a pretty big building. But, it's looked like that for as long as I can remember. However, if you drive by right now, this is what it looks like:

You probably noticed that the biggest change is the removal of the stone from the first picture to the second. That "pink stone" or "pink brick" has been around a long time. So long, in fact, that there were several locals that were upset about its removal. The claim was that they were removing the "original look" of the building and they weren't fans of change. But, if you'll notice in the second picture, the "original" look was actually covered by the stones.

Timeline of Construction for the New Offices

As of right now, I haven't heard how long it will be until the new Elliott location actually opens up. What I do know is that this renovation/upgrade is a complete overhaul of the original building, so it's not going to be a quick change. I'll keep you posted on any updates I get going forward.
