The Doobie Brothers' long-time drummer Mike Hossack died of cancer Monday at the age of 65 at his home in Wyoming.

You may remember he left the group in 1973 and then rejoined when they reunited in the late 1980s. He kept playing with The Doobie Brothers until his health issues sidelined him in 2010.

In a statement posted on the official Doobie Brothers website, the band writes, “Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and loved ones. We will miss him greatly.”
