SFC McMillion entered the Army in 1971 where he began his career as a military policeman at Fort Dix, New Jersey with the 42nd MP Co. that was known as The Ghosts Company.

His military police career was started with 1st Army, where he moved on to 2nd division, to later serve three tours in Germany with 3rd Infantry Division. As a military policeman he has served with Hawk Missile Battalion and also assigned to 194th Armor Brigade at Fort Knox, Kentucky. His many years of service have taken him to Korea, Germany, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. He is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He ended his career at Fort Stewart, Georgia with the 24th Infantry Division with the motto, “First to Fight.” SFC McMillion’ s platoon was the farthest deployed MP platoon in Iraq where he got the nickname Trouble Shooter for missions leading up to the start of Desert Storm.

After retiring from the military he went on to work as a Correctional Officer and earned a degree in Criminal Justice.

In 2012, he retired from his second career with the Department of Corrections of Ohio. He then moved from Lima, Ohio to settle down in Nacogdoches to be close to his granddaughter, daughter, Ms Sonnie Mosier, and son-in-law.
