At UT-Austin, some students want a statue of Jefferson Davis removed because of ties to the Confederate flag, and a panel of leaders will have the final say.

Davis was President of the Confederacy in the Civil War, and accused of treason after he was captured in 1865.

The Jefferson Davis statue on the UT-Austin campus was vandalized recently, and an online petition has popped up to have it removed from campus.  Or might it be relocated?  The Associated Press says a committee of students, faculty and alumni will decide what to do with it.

Former Pantera Drummer Vinnie Paul says the Confederate Flag controversy is a "knee-jerk reaction."  What do you think?
