On the list of Valentine Getaways, so far we've been through four. For number five, we decided to go with something pretty simple.

For the #4 idea on the Valentine Getaway list, we decided to go a little closer to our neck of the woods. Namely, Lake Toledo Bend.

So far, the Valentine Getaway ideas have been San Antonio and New Orleans. Both of those are a lot of fun, and #3 has the potential to be just as good.

For the second idea, we decided that we'd go one state over, into Louisiana. New Orleans it is. Laissez le bon temps rouler!

Now that we are EXACTLY ONE WEEK AWAY from V-Day, it's time to kick this list off.

Between now and V-Day, I'll be listing some awesome Valentine's Day Getaways that are within driving distance - some of them actually IN Deep East Texas.

We are now less than three weeks away from 2019. Christmas is on Tuesday, the 25th, but other than that, we're basically done with the year.

TxDOT says since Nov. 7, 2000, at least one person has died on Texas roadways every single day. That's 66-thousand deaths, and many of them could have been prevented. There are at least five things we can do to bring this horrible streak to an end.

The Texas Department of Transportation is advising motorists of delays on Highway 59 between Lufkin and Nacogdoches because of an overturned 18-wheeler.

The rest of the team traveled to Jacksonville by plane, but quarterback Deshaun Watson took a 12-hour bus ride to avoid having cabin pressure on his bruised lung and injured ribs. And JJ Watt is totally jealous!

The best haunted houses in Texas aren't necessarily the ones that creep you out and make you jump out of your skin. Instead of the fear factor, it's the fun factor that makes a haunted house great. And the best one in Texas is worth the 4-hour road trip.

If you're a Veteran who travels across Texas a lot, this could save you quite a bit of money. Starting November 1, you won't have to pay any more tolls on certain roads as long as you register your license plate with the state.
