I'm glad I went to the Veteran's Day parade in downtown Lufkin on Saturday.  The 9th annual event was full of traditional pomp and circumstance, but rightfully so, with the emphasis on those who served and are currently serving our country.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial that graces Washington DC is large, and a replica half that size travels the country to give those wishing to pay respects close to home the chance to do that. The wall comes to East Texas this weekend after a stop in Kansas last week. It moves on to Alabama next week.
