Numbers 1 and 2 both made sense to me personally, but my state, the Great State of Texas came in at number 3 on the list of the Most Sinful States in America. I couldn't believe it.

School is getting ready to start up again, and students are getting excited about new friends, new teachers, new backpacks, and a brand new start. And there's this not-so-happy news that Texas ranks among the lowest in the US for SAT scores, so we gotta buckle down. There is one bright spot.

We're not the best, but considering there are more than three thousand cities in Texas and 28 million people, being a Top 100 city might be alright. Oh, and who ranks higher, Lufkin, or Nacogdoches?

If you have a really fun weekend planned, that might mean you're headed to Louisiana. One site says Texas is just a mediocre place for fun, but Louisiana is a Top 5 spot for amusement. Really?  Ok, why?!

We've got our share of stress, but Texas isn't the most stressed out state. What's up Louisiana!  You're ranked pretty high for stress, neighbors.  Here's why.

It feels good to have a vehicle that you love, but spending a big chunk of your income on a nice ride creates big personal debt problems. And in Lufkin, we rank among the worst in Texas for overspending.  If you're thinking of buying a new vehicle, you gotta read this!

Texas has several spots in the Top 50 when it comes to the best cities to visit on New Year's Eve.  Another win for us as a whole. What's your favorite night spot to ring in the New Year in East Texas?

When it comes to the best cities in Texas to raise a family, Lufkin and Nacogdoches both scored in the bottom 10 percent.  At least, that's according to a study commissioned by WalletHub, but, I take this all in with a major grain of salt.
