Nurses fall into one of those categories that include people that we should be thanking ALL YEAR LONG. You know the people that I'm talking about, right? Nurses, teachers, doctors, car mechanics, etc.

However, their official day is today. Yes, today is National Nurses Day here in the United States. That means that ESPECIALLY today, you should be thanking nurses. Whether they're family members, friends, or just acquaintances, drop them a line, shoot them a text, give them a phone call, send an email, write a note, or - even better - do ALL of those things. Show them that they are appreciated.

Over the past few months, the whole world has discovered how important nurses are. Nurses have been on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have become known as truly essential workers, and have been quite necessary during this whole ordeal.

Now, don't get me wrong. I realize that doctors, grocery store workers, and others have become known as essential workers, too. And, they should be. But, today is National Nurses Day. Today is the day for the RNs, LVNs and others to receive thanks and gratitude for all that they are doing on a daily basis in their chosen field.

So, to all the nurses out there: If you don't hear it from anyone else today, at least hear this from me: Thank you. Thank you for what you've done, as well as what you're doing. It hasn't gone unnoticed, and I'm truly thankful for it all. Happy National Nurses Day to you all!
