Police officers deserve recognition for what they do every day. They put their lives on the line to protect us. This week is the week for us to say thank you.

This Week, May 10th - May 15th, is National Police Week

This week is National Police Week. This is an entire week carved out for not only honoring the men and women who wear the badge and protect us, but also to remember the ones who died in the line of duty.

We have no shortage of great officers in our area. We have the officers in the larger departments with big numbers on patrol, and we have officers in the departments where they're only staffed by a handful of people. All of them are wearing the badge and making sure that we're taken care of.

A Message to Our Police Officers

For those of you reading this that are one of the officers that are either currently on-duty, or have retired from it, I want you to get this message from me: Thank you. As someone that grew up with family members and friends that were - and lots that still are - police officers, I know that the job you have chosen to take on is not an easy one. However, you guys are doing it, and doing it well.

You've chosen to step up to defend not only your friends and family members, but the rest of your communities as well. I want you to know that what you're doing doesn't go unseen. I truly appreciate it, and I know that I'm not the only one.

Once again, thank you for all that you do.
