What To Do On Spring Break In East Texas – Day 5
Well, unfortunately, it's here. The final day of Spring Break. Yes, I know you still have Saturday and Sunday before you have to go back to work on Monday, but today is the final weekday of Spring Break. Those other two days are just for recuperating before kicking off the work week again.
What should you do around Nacogdoches on this final day?
Well, today doesn't involve just one single thing. It's made up of a few different things.
First, make your way out to the SFA Gardens. This is one of the biggest attractions to the town, and you'd miss out if you didn't spend at least a little time there. And, why just visit one? There's the Ruby Mize Garden, the Gayla Mize Garden, and the Shade Garden, which make up the SFA Arboretum. Then there's the Jim and Beth Kingham Children's Garden, on the SFA campus, and the Pineywoods Native Plant Center on Raguet Street. So, no shortage of garden choices in Nac.
After visiting the gardens, go find some more local Nacogdoches cuisine for a good lunch. If you aren't sure about where to go, check out yesterday's "What To Do On Spring Break In East Texas - Day 4".
For the afternoon, go check out downtown. Spend some time going in and out of the different shops on the bricks of Main Street. There's antique shops, furniture stores, and art gallery, salons, bakeries, clothing stores and more.
Then, at night, mosey on down to Banita Creek Hall. Now, while it is true that there is no live band scheduled for tonight, it's still worth the trip to spend some time dancing on the hardwood dance floor to the sounds of country music.
So, there you have it. The entire list of how to spend Spring Break in and around Nacogdoches. If you weren't able to take part in the events that I brought up this week, don't worry, they're not going anywhere. And, why try to fit all of these into one week? These ideas are good, year-round!
