The Houston Texans kicked off their regular season on Monday, with a game against the New Orleans Saints. They played in New Orleans at the Superdome. Now, as a Texans fan, the outcome Monday was not exactly the outcome that I wanted to see. The Texans lost by two points on the last play of the game, as the Saints kicked a field goal to seal the win.

However, that game wasn't bad. After watching last year - and several previous years before that - a loss by two points to the New Orleans Saints isn't bad at all. Especially when you take into account that they were in the Superdome, and it was the first game of the season.

There were also a lot of positives that came out of that game. DeAndre Hopkins looked great as always, catching almost anything that came his way. And now, QB Deshaun Watson was looking pretty good in both the running AND passing games. The defense didn't look too shabby either. I mean, JJ Watt didn't do much that game - no worries, he'll pick up as the season goes on - but Zach Cunningham and Whitney Mercilus brought a lot into the field of play, with Mercilus snagging a Drew Brees interception in the red zone to stop the Saints from scoring.

Now, it wasn't all great things for Houston. I've already mentioned that JJ Watt wasn't even a factor in the game. I'm not worried about him turning that around, but it was still a factor that will need to change, rather quickly. Also, the Texans offensive line will have to be able to play four complete quarters without giving out. I mean, the QB can only take so many hits per game. But, this is something else that I'm sure will pick up this season. These are all things that can, and will, be improved throughout the season.

This weekend the Texans take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. That game will take place at noon on Sunday. The big plus? They will be playing on home turf at NRG Stadium in Houston.

My prediction? A fairly large Houston Texans' victory. What are your thoughts? Do they pull out the win? Let us know in the comment section below!
