A couple in Oklahoma is selling their home for one dollar.  Wanna move?

It's no shack.  It's a 4,000 square foot home with a pool on several acres, and it's on the market for one dollar.

The realtor said it's a hard home to categorize because it's outside of town in Logan County, Oklahoma sitting on its own, and there aren't many comparable homes that would help set the price.  So they're going to let the market do the work, and see what happens.  Oh, you Oklahomans!  Always throwing caution to the wind.

So far they've had multiple offers, probably from a lot of folks who are thinking "What the heck, let's give it a whirl, and what do we have to lose."  It would be pretty sweet to overbid that one dollar by $50 or even $100K and end up with a great house.  But we doubt they'll actually let it go for that price.

Would you put your home in Lufkin or Nacogdoches on the market for a buck?  It seems a little risky, but the sellers don't have to sell if they don't get an offer they like.  If all the bids come in at ten bucks, five hundred bucks, and at a couple thousand dollars, they'll just reject the offers and start from scratch. It's an interesting strategy that just may work in East Texas too.  If you decide to try it, let us know.

Oh, and to help with your home-buying quest and all of the other fun you're about to have this summer, we've got a pretty sweet contest coming up after Memorial Day that will put some money in your pocket for a down payment, some new furniture, a new grill for the backyard, or whatever you decide.  It'll be way more than a buck!  And you don't have to move to Oklahoma.
